The City of Beaumont invites you to serve on the Beaumont Public Library Board. There will be 2 vacancies as of December 31, 2024.

Mandate
The Board has full management and control of the Municipal Library and will promote and maintain library services for the municipality. For more information view the Beaumont Municipal Library Site.


Membership & Term
The Board shall consist of 8 members appointed by Council, 6 Public Members, 1 Council Member. Public Member positions are held for a term of three-years. Must be a Beaumont resident or Leduc County resident, but only two Leduc County residents can serve at the same time.  


Meeting Time
Meetings are held monthly, typically on the second Monday of the month at 7:00pm with a minimum of 10 meetings held each year.


Remuneration
NIL. This is a volunteer position.


Skills, abilities, and experience
  • Knowledge and skills in the areas of governance, financial oversight, advocacy, and fund development.
  • Board or Committee member experience and knowledge of parliamentary procedure
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to speak in public and communicate effectively
  • Passion for literacy and community building
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, committed, and enthusiastic
