The City of Beaumont is seeking a Manager, Municipal Projects to lead this project team. In this position you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering operational and capital projects that help power Beaumont’s future, ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, and in alignment with our community values.

What YOU’RE Responsible for: 
  • Leading a dedicated team of project professionals, supporting their development and ensuring strong team cohesion through mentorship and trust. 
  • Managing a portfolio of small to high value complex, multi-disciplinary capital and operational projects—from planning through to closure while meeting corporate and Council commitments. 
  • Projects managed by the project team will include any projects that support the municipality and could include but not be limited to transportation, utility, facility, open space, recreation and/or drainage projects. 
  • Overseeing all aspects of project management including but not limited to risk identification and mitigation, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract management, and reporting. 
  • Driving continuous improvement and refinement of project management processes, procurement practices, and project delivery. 
  • Supporting the development, updates and refinement of the City's 10-year capital plan and shaping future infrastructure strategy. 
  • Collaborating cross-departmentally and with stakeholders to ensure expectations are met. 
  • Leading and/or participating in strategy interdepartmental initiatives that help shape the organization. 
  • Preparing reports and presenting to Council and responding to inquiries from residents and elected officials. 
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring all projects adhere to relevant legislation and regulations. 
What YOU Bring: 
  • A post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field (equivalencies may be considered). 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience leading complex infrastructure projects, ideally within the municipal or public sector. 
  • Proven experience directly supervising staff while building trust and strong relationships 
  • Strong understanding of project, procurement and contract management practices, policies, and legislation. 
  • Experience using project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Office 365). 
  • PMP designation (or willingness to pursue) is considered an asset. 
  • Civil construction experience is an asset. 
  • A people-first leadership style that fosters trust, collaboration, and shared success. 
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse project teams and deliver results in high-pressure environments. 
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and proactive problem-solving. 
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal, with a knack for translating complex technical information into plain language. 
  • Awareness of the broader political and regulatory landscape impacting municipal projects. 
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.  
What WE Offer:  
  • A salary range of $ 106,433.60- $ 138,902.40 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)

  • 35-hour work week (some evening and weekend work may be required)
