As a Citizen Experience Representative (CER), you’ll play a key role in fostering a welcoming and engaging connection between the City of Beaumont, our citizens and visitors.
Working closely with the Citizen Experience Lead, you’ll be an integral part of our Service Experience Office Team. You'll help ensure every citizen interaction - whether through live chat, email, phone, or other channels - is seamless, meaningful, and leaves a lasting positive impression.

What YOU’RE Responsible for:
  • Be the first point of contact for citizens, answering questions, sharing information about events and services, and creating a positive connection every time
  • Handle inquiries through various channels with precision and care - live chat, email, calls, and beyond!
  • Diffuse challenging situations with professionalism, turning challenging interactions into positive opportunities and finding solutions where possible.
  • Schedule follow-up conversations for more complex inquiries and escalate cases when needed.
  • Collect citizen feedback and suggest innovative ways to improve service delivery.
  • Craft helpful resources like FAQs, how-to guides, and manuals to empower citizens to find solutions.
  • Support seamless online experiences by processing payments, registrations, and permits.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the City’s programs, services, and organizational structure.
  • Track performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Build meaningful relationships with citizens and colleagues alike, fostering trust and a reputation for excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to Legislative regulations, Safety Directives and procedures and all respectful workplace standards. Report unsafe conditions and near miss incidents promptly. Attend regular safety meetings and promote a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What YOU Bring:
  • A diploma in business, administration, operations, or a related field, paired with strong Microsoft 365 skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a customer service-oriented role and 2 years of operational experience
  • Stellar multitasking skills and proficiency with multi-screen setups in a Windows PC environment (minimum 50 wpm typing speed).
  • A flair for turning difficult interactions into positive outcomes.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a love for tackling new challenges.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, decision-making ability, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a sharp focus on delivering exceptional service.
  • The ability to find creative, value-driven solutions that leave citizens welcomed.
  • Comfort working in complex, changing environments that require collaboration across teams.
Assets:
  • Contact centre experience
  • Experience working in a public-facing environment
Equivalencies may be considered on the basis of one year of directly related experience for one year of education.
 

What WE Offer:
  • A salary range of $57,803.20 - $75,439.00 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Eligibility to participate in our Earned Day off and Hybrid Work Program 
  • Membership to the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre
  • 35-hour work week (some evening and weekend work may be required)

This is a term position of approximately 3-4 months, with duration dependent on operational needs.
