The Community Services Department is seeking an Early Childhood Program Assistant for its accredited municipal Early Learning Childcare Centre. Reporting to the Supervisor, Child Care Service this position is responsible for providing early learning programming through support to children, families, providers, staff and community. The Early Childhood Program Assistant will oversee the planning and organizing of the programming, and lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

The Early Childhood Program Assistant will oversee the planning and organizing of the programming, and lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
What YOU’RE Responsible for:
- Fostering a play based learning environment that nurtures development, supports learning and promotes caring and kindness.
- Role model positive child behaviours and relationships
- Manage the workload efficiently and proactively take initiative
- Communicate clearly and work seamlessly as part of a dynamic team.
- Adhere to all safety and reporting standards and promote Beaumont’s health and safety program
- Other duties as assigned
- Early Childhood Diploma with III Child Development Worker or supervisor certification
- 1 year of experience in a quality early learning child care centre
- Experience in early childhood development and appropriate practices
- Knowledge of the Alberta Child Care Licensing Act
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
- Meet the shift requirements; shifts will include split shifts.
- This position is eligible for wage top-up based on level of certification and as per the Alberta Child Care Grant Funding Program guidelines with a base rate salary range of $38,590.50 - $43,446 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
