Throughout your studies you’ve developed the skills to maintain and operate mechanical equipment, as well as maintain a water distribution and wastewater collection system. Now it’s time to put what you’ve learned into practice; our Infrastructure Team is seeking two temporary, full-time Student Operators to join us for the 2025 summer season. This position will report to the Team Lead, Water & Wastewater.

Information For Applicants:

Now it’s time to put what you’ve learned into practice; our Infrastructure Team is seeking two temporary, full-time Student Operators to join us for the 2025 summer season. This position will report to the Team Lead, Water & Wastewater.
What YOU’RE Responsible for:
- Water meter installs, repairs, replacements, and reads
- Pump house checks
- Chlorine, bacteriological, and turbidity testing
- Water and sewer inspections
- Hydrant flushing, maintenance, painting, and repairs
- Main line valve exercising and repairs
- CC exercising, inspections, and repairs
- Other duties as required
- Current enrolment in the Water and Wastewater Technician Program at NAIT or an equivalent program
- Related experience in water distribution, wastewater collection and storm sewer systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to meet the shift requirements for the duration of the term (Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials up to 23 kilograms (50 lbs.)
- Provide a clear criminal record check
- Provide a drivers abstract that demonstrates responsible and safe driving behavior
- Communicate effectively both orally and in written form, and work as part of a team
- Provide approved safety boots
- Adhere to all safety standards and promote Beaumont’s health and safety program
- A positive attitude with an eagerness to learn from our experienced Operators
- A rate of $24.59 per hour
- 40-hour work week
- Term position from April 28, 2025 to September 26, 2025
- Membership to the Beaumont Sport & Recreation Centre
